Timberwolves trading Julius Randle to Nets
The Minnesota Timberwolves are trading Julius Randle and a first-round pick to the Brooklyn Nets as part of a three-team deal that also includes the Chicago Bulls, a person with knowledge of the terms said Monday night. The Timberwolves are sending the 28th pick in Tuesday’s draft to the Nets and will be receiving the No. 33 pick that will be made in the second round on Wednesday night, said the person who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the deal has not received the required approvals from the league office. ESPN, which first reported the deal, also said the Bulls would be receiving Nic Claxton from Brooklyn in the trade. Randle, a three-time All-Star, will be moving to his fifth team after stints with New York, the Los Angeles Lakers, New Orleans and the Timberwolves. He averaged 21.1 points this past season, though shot just 39% from the field and 24% from 3-point range in Minnesota’s 12 playoff contests. Claxton just finished his seventh NBA season, all with Brooklyn. He averaged 11.7 points this past season.
Hawks agree to acquire Wiggins from Thunder
The Atlanta Hawks have agreed to a deal to acquire wing Aaron Wiggins from the Oklahoma City Thunder, a person with knowledge of the agreement told The Associated Press on Monday. The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the deal, first reported by ESPN, has not been announced. The Thunder will receive second-round draft picks in 2030 and 2032. Wiggins joins the Hawks after a five-year stint with the Thunder, which he helped win the 2025 NBA championship. Wiggins, 27, averaged 9.4 points and 3.1 rebounds last season. He started 21 of 65 games. He averaged 12 points during the 2024-25 season. The Hawks also gave guard C.J. McCollum a one-year, $21 million deal. The Hawks have two first-round picks in the NBA draft on Tuesday night. The addition of Wiggins and the new deal with McCollum strengthens the team’s perimeter game entering the draft.

MLB Commish: Giants botched Pride Night cap guidance, leaving players unclear on opt-out
MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred says the San Francisco Giants failed to inform players they could opt out of wearing rainbow-themed caps during Pride Night. Some players, including pitcher Landen Roupp, added Bible verses to the caps, which violated league policy. Missouri Senator Josh Hawley expressed concern over the warning to players, calling it “dubious” and arguing MLB promotes a political viewpoint with Pride-themed uniforms. Manfred responded that the league’s policy allows exemptions for Pride emblems and players can opt out. Manfred said the Giants’ communication was inadequate, but players face no penalties or fines.
