Think twice before applying preventative fungicides

An agronomist is urging farmers to think twice before applying a preventative fungicide on soybeans.

Derek Crompton with Channel says as commodity prices fall, every input should be scrutinized.

“Prices have come down a little bit so guys are wondering if they are in a condition where there is extra moisture, should they spend money on a fungicide program?  And I think what we talk about a lot is return on investment.”

He tells Brownfield growers need to factor in variety selection.
