South Dakota crops progress slightly behind last year, but ahead of 5-year-average

South Dakota crops are slightly behind last year but ahead of the 5-year-average.

Soybeans are 91 percent emerged and 61 percent good to excellent.

Corn 66 percent good to excellent.

Winter wheat is 89 percent headed and is 44 percent good to excellent.

Spring wheat is 48 percent headed and is 52 good to excellent.

Ninety-one percent of sorghum is planted with 85 percent of the crop in good condition.
