McDonald’s has new antibiotic plan for beef

One of the world’s largest restaurants plans to source most of its beef from cattle that have not been treated with “medically important” antibiotics. Details of McDonald’s plan are posted on its website with the target at the end of 2020. McDonald’s says the goal is to reduce the overall use of antibiotics important to human health, as defined by the World Health Organization (WHO), which applies across 85% of its global beef supply chain.
