Hemp gets support during farm bill conference opening comments

Language in the 2018 Farm Bill that would remove industrial hemp from the list of controlled substances received early support from members of the Farm Bill Conference Committee.

Senator Mitch McConnell says, “I believe that industrial hemp deserves a comeback.  I think the confusion with its more controversial cousin has largely been eliminated.”

McConnell praised Kentucky Congressman James Comer’s lead on the hemp issue, as hemp products have been consumed in the U.S.
