Global Dairy Trade index makes third straight gain

 

The Global Dairy Trade index rose 1.7% in Tuesday morning’s event.  The average price was $2,844 a metric ton.  That’s the third straight gain after steadily falling from June through early November.

Whole milk powder accounted for just over half of the product sold and was up three-tenths of a percent at $2,674 a ton, or $1.21 a pound.  Nearly a quarter of sales were skim milk powder, which was up 3.4% to $2,042 a ton, or $.92 cents a pound.
